Where Are They Now?  Spotlight on Isis Benitez

At Liberty Partnerships our focus is on the success of our students. We are thrilled to share updates and success stories from our alumni, showcasing their accomplishments and celebrating their achievements. Our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential through education, mentorship, and community support. We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we are committed to providing them with the resources and guidance they need to succeed. We invite you to join us in celebrating the accomplishments of our alumni, and to check back often for updates on their inspiring journeys.

We asked Isis to share what she's been up to since her time with LPP.  Here's what she told us!

What have you been doing since leaving Liberty?:

I had the opportunity to go to Marist College and get my degree in Communications with a Concentration in Public Relations and a Minor in Psychology. I was the Marist College class of 2020. While in college, I was fortunate to have my work study program and work with the Marist Liberty Partnerships Program (the Liberty Program that I was a part of). After graduating from college, I received a job with Planned Parenthood of Greater New York as the Community Health Promoter where I was working on ensuring that folks of color's voices were heard and understood. I am now able to say that I am the Lead Director of Communications, Advocacy and Outreach at the YWCA Ulster County, where my biggest job is to bring the YWCA back into Dutchess County. I am working on advocating for human rights everyday. As a woman of color, my rights are always being tested, I am fighting everyday for the betterment and safety of all folks.

How did Liberty help prepare you for this?:

Liberty helped me by bringing me into my leadership roles at a young age. With being told how much of a leader I am and the qualities of a leader I exhibit, I am was able to bring these traits with me to my everyday job. This is what is helping me the most to be successful in what I do. I am able to give back to the community that raised me and say "I am a product of Liberty and here is what I do now". The family feel is one of a kind, the leadership experience is unmatchable, and the love of Liberty within the community is something that doesn't go unnoticed!
