Liberty students had a very active summer!
Liberty Partnerships Program offered a variety of programming including: a 6-week Virtual Creative Arts camp with two in-person enrichment workshops, an Improv session and a painting class. Students had an opportunity to participate in two college trips. In early July, a group of Liberty students joined in a day trip to Jamestown Community College which included a visit to the National Comedy Museum. At the end of the month students participated in an overnight trip to visit Ithaca College and Cornell University which included a stop at Corning Museum of Glass and an evening of miniature golf and ice cream!
Additionally, WNY Stem Hub facilitated 2 (1) week stem camps utilizing reusable Lego kits, 3D printing, and drone programming. At the end of August, we hosted a two-day seminar for middle and high school students. Students could choose workshops on a variety of topics such as college search and application process, essay writing, preparation for the workforce and exposure to career tracks including Drones, EMT and Pharmacy Technician. The STEM Camps and Seminar were hosted on the main campus at NCCC. Students truly enjoyed their experience on campus – and definitely enjoyed their meals! We capped off our activities with Fun Fridays – which included field trips to an Escape Room, Niagara Splash Park and Darien Lake.
A great time was had by all!
